    PROGRAM

    Day 1: Arrival and Accommodation

    Reception in Cangas de Onís, with accommodation in a 3-star hotel.
    Free time to explore the village and a briefing to organize and prepare materials.
    Group dinner.

     

    Day 2: Covadonga Lakes and Sanctuary

    A hike through the glacial lakes of Covadonga, a natural paradise.
    Lunch (picnic or in a restaurant, to be decided).
    Visit to the Covadonga Sanctuary, one of the most beautiful in the Iberian Peninsula.

    • Distance: 10 km
    • Elevation Gain: 200 m total
    • Difficulty: Easy

     

    Day 3: Ruta del Cares

    A hike along the famous “Divine Gorge” between Caín and Poncebos. A stunning trail amidst mountains that rise over 2,000 meters.

    • Distance: 12 km
    • Elevation Gain: ± 300 m total
    • Difficulty: Easy

     

    Day 4: Bulnes and Return

    Visit to the remote village of Bulnes, situated over 600 meters above sea level and accessible by a funicular.
    Lunch followed by the return journey to Portugal, with stops at viewpoints and scenic landscapes.

    Activity Requirements:

    • Limited to 8 participants, with a deadline of april 20, 2025.
    • Requires a minimum of 4 participants to proceed and may be postponed if weather conditions are unfavorable.
    • Participants should have some physical endurance and basic experience in mountain trekking.
    • A recommended equipment list will be provided upon booking confirmation.
    What to bring:
    • Trekking boots or shoes (mandatory): Ensure they are comfortable and suitable for hiking.
    • Comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing: Layered clothing is recommended to adapt to changing temperatures.
    • Personal hygiene items: Bring enough for the entire duration of the trip.
    • Backpack: A medium-sized backpack to carry essentials during hikes.
    • Energy snacks and meals: To maintain energy levels throughout the activities.
    • Water bottle or canteen: Stay hydrated; a capacity of at least 1L is recommended.
    • Sun protection: Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to shield from UV rays.
    • Trash bag: To collect and carry any waste you may produce during the hikes.
    • Optional items: Walking poles, a camera for capturing memories, and a raincoat in case of unexpected weather changes.
