DAY 1 – WELCOME BRIEFING

Accommodation, where a member of Montesa will welcome you. You will be duly informed about your first day of hiking as well as the entire proposed week, you will also receive documents about the region and you will be able to resolve all your doubts

DAY 2 – AMEIJOEIRA – LAMAS DE MOURO

This route it wil take you to the discovery the tradition of transhumance in Castro Laboreiro, crossing valleys and mountains above 1000 meters. Feel absorbed by the landscape! This route allows you to get in touch with people, ancient customs, mild and winter, passing by Castro Laboreiro Castle.  The intensity with which we intertwined with nature is unforgettable.

Short hike: 10 km, Easy /Long hike: 18 km. Challenging.

DAY 3 – WALK FROM PENEDA TO SOAJO.

You will start the day with a visit to the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Peneda, then you will enter the oak forests accompanied by the Peneda river that guides us to the place of Adrão, passing by secret lagoons, forgotten places and ancient paths. After this route, we go down to the wonderful village of Soajo, where the rusticity, the granite of the houses, the people and the way of life take us back to the past. Picnic day!!

DIA 4: LINDOSO TO GERMIL

Beautiful, with its granite granaries and primitive castle, it offers a special start to the day. When leaving this charming village behind, embark on a mountainous adventure, traveling through part of the Serra Amarela. Along the centuries-old path, you will find old shepherds’ shelters, the beautiful village of Ermida and the picturesque Germil.

DAY 5: TREK FROM GERÊS TO FAFIÃO.

We start the day with a transfer as we head to deep Gerês. The surroundings change, nature emerges and shows us a wilder side, if on the Peneda side the past is still very much alive with customs, mountain villages and people, on this side, despite a tourist growth, nature is more luxurious and verdant, at every corner there is a pond, a waterfall, a century-old tree, a peak as far as the eye can see and viewpoints to contemplate.

DAY 6: FAFIÃO HIKE TO CABRIL

Short walking day. It is time to absorb all the beauty of these mountain villages, it will be a day dedicated to discovering the most hidden and unexplored places in Gerês.

DAY 7: HIKE FROM THE HILL TO PITÕES DAS JÚNIAS

Finally, we arrive at the other end of the National Park. We know that the journey is long but unforgettable, however, Pitões das Júnias is the icing on the cake, it is a place that is beyond imagination. Carved in the mountain, Pitões is there as it was! Everything still runs slowly, nature still rules, rough people give everything they have and houses are what we can call home. This is the grand finale, certain of which will bring him back. On this day we will take the opportunity to experience this village and surroundings.

DAY 8: TRANSFER TO AIRPORT OR OTHER DESTINATION

On the last day, time permitting, we can explore even more the village of Pitões da Júnias or another place in the National Park.
